Transferring your Domains to ServuPro is Easy.
At the current registrar, check to be sure the domain name's Administrative Contact email address is correct, that the domain is unlocked, and that you have requested the required EPP code for each domain name you wish to transfer.
Shortly after you complete the transfer request on our website, an email will be sent to the Administrative Contact email address for each domain to verify authorization of the transfer(s). You must follow the instructions in this email for the transfer to proceed.
The existing registrar has five (5) days to deny the transfer; after that, the transfer is automatically approved. You will receive an email confirmation when this happens. That's all there is to it!
What domains can be transferred?
At this time we can process transfers for the following TLDs: .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .cc, .tv, .tw, .ca, .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .cn, .com.cn, .net.cn, .org.cn, and .in.
Of course, we can still host your website even if you decide not to transfer the domain registration or if your domain is associated with a TLD not listed above.
What is an EPP code?
The EPP code is an authoriation code used as a safeguard, to help protect domain owners and prevent unauthorized transfers of domain names. An EPP code is required to transfer .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .us, .me and .name domain names. In fact, you can't initiate a transfer of any of these domains without an EPP code.
Where do I get an EPP code?
You get them from the existing registrar. Normally, it can be obtained from within the registrar's control panel, but in some cases you might need to call them. Please note: EPP codes are case sensitive.
What do I do if the Administrative Contact email address is wrong?
If at all possible, it is best to change the Administrative Contact email address after the domain has been transferred. For example, Go Daddy imposes a 60 day transfer restriction period "for new or renewed registrations, recently transferred domains, changes to the registrant's contact organization, or changes to the registrant contact's first or last name when an organization has not been listed." Therefore, if you must change the Administrative Contact email address, be careful not to change anything else!
What if I have hosting with my domain? Can I transfer that too?
Of course! When you place your transfer order simply add a hosting plan before Checkout. Remember, if you purchase a hosting plan for a .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .us or .name, we'll pay for the initial transfer and all subsequent renewals are FREE!
